The Ingredient |
Today, I want to give us an insight into preparing an indigenous food in Nigeria. This meal is not commonly eaten, but for those that enjoy the combination and it's nutritional value do go an extra mile to have it. The Yorubas call it Adaalu or Ewa Oloka. I guess we all know it as Beans and Corn porridge.
Here are the ingredients needed:
Beans
Fresh Corn
Smoked Fish
Boiled Meat (chopped into cubes)
Onions
Water
Palm oil
Salt
Seasoning
Fresh/ Grounded Pepper.

Yummy! |
Light up your stove and boil water in a pot, pour in your fresh Corn and let it boil for 45 minutes then add your beans with sliced onions to make it soft, let it boil together.
Once the mixture is soft, add your fresh/grounded pepper (for maximum enjoyment, use fresh pepper), smoked fish and your boiled meat in cubes, then add your salt and seasoning to taste, add palm oil with few sliced onions (if you desire). Stir the content and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Then our Adaalu is ready. It's best eaten anytime of the day with a glass of water.
Make it a special dish for your family and love ones this weekend.
By the way, please join me as I enjoy my meal. Hmm, yummy, very delicious. Do have a blessed and restful weekend ahead.
Much thanks to BackYardstudio for this privilege.
