Drums of war

''And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet'' -Mathew 24 v 6
It is absurd and disturbing the rate at which nations are building and acquiring weapons of mass destruction despite the fact that they are not at war. On CCTV (China Central Television), the Chinese government showcased their newly built weapons of mass destruction. Weapons that could destroy anything on target. Meanwhile, they are not at war per se, but they are building and training for war. If not for hatred, selfish interest and political higi-haga, why will a country be acquiring technologically advanced weapons of mass destruction. To destroy who? Aliens or fellow human? When love is lost, evil persists!
The enemies of humanity are on the rise every day and they live among us. They include and not limited to the following; Al-Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, those who finance terrorist operations and those who turn a blind eye on their activities. Terrorists are bent on destroying humanity. They are so unkind to mankind.
War brings pains and poverty.
Russia and Ukraine are still trading blames for the avoidable Malaysian plane crash on Ukraine soil. The US, UK, Syria and Iraq are battling the devilish ISIS who have proven to be more brutal in their act of terrorising mankind. Israel and Hamas in the Gaza strip still can't find a pact of peace.
Boko Haram is still giving Nigerian and Cameroonian government sleepless nights and Al-Shabab are determined to avenge the death of their leader killed by the US troops, on Kenya soil.

*The Condemned 12
Few weeks ago, some Nigerian soldiers skirmishing and repelling Boko Haram were said to have attacked their GOC due to some shallow contingencies and misinformation. This week, twelve of those soldiers were sentenced to death for mutiny and others were given jail times. We agree that nobody is above the Law, these twelve broke the Law, but let's weigh their deeds against the judgement. They laid their lives down for the love of this country by battling the dreaded Boko Haram, we can't betray them because they were pushed to the wall. A second chance, we plea. They have parents, wives, brothers, sisters and children who look up to them. If we kill them, what will become the fate of their children and wives. let's have a rethink and not capital punishment.

Let's preserve ourselves, mankind and our only home EARTH.
Every continent is battling with one problem or the other from natural disaster to human 'engineered' disasters. Avoidable disasters. The Yoruba people will always say that 'Orun nya'bo, kin'se oro enikan' meaning when the sky come crashing on the earth it won't be just a man's problem. we all must be responsible and responsive to fellow human for peace to reign. We all must learn to appreciate and tolerate fellow human irrespective of their chosen religion or race. The sky is wide enough for all the birds to fly.
''But he who endures to the end will be saved.'' -Mathew 24 v 13
