As the 2014/2015 football season begins...



Sports, football especially have been and will continue to be a unifying agent around the world. The ultimate football festival, FIFA World Cup, was held this year in Brazil. There were a lot of surprises and upsets amidst the competing nations. One of such Jaw-dropping result was the 5-1 thrashing of Spain, the defending champion at the tournament, by the Netherlands. Also, we cannot forget quickly the humiliating 7-1 of the host Brazil by the electrifying Germans.

Away from the exciting moments of the 2014 world cup, the refreshing league football season is about to kick off. The English Premier League, German Bundesliga, Spanish La Liga, Europa League and ultimately the UEFA Champions League will be intriguing this season with the massive transfer window sales.
The pre-season has been quite impressive for some teams while some teams like Arsenal FC and Real Madrid FC have taken hold of early silverwares; the English Community Shield and UEFA Super cup respectively. Arsenal FC seems to be getting off to a flying start and by so doing, they have sent signals to their rivals that this season will not be business as usual.

The 2014/2015 football season will be amazing for most teams as foremost players will be facing their previous teams in the competition. Luiz Suarez will be one of the players to watch due to his switch from Liverpool FC to FC Barcelona. Also, the inclusion of James Rodriguez, the 2014 world cup golden boot winner, will add more quality to the line-up of Real Madrid FC. The arrival of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge will pose a major threat to rivals in the English Premier League, Champions League and other leagues where Chelsea FC will feature. Not forgetting the return of the astonishing Thibaut Courtois and the dangerous Didier Drogba to Chelsea FC.

As the football season begins, dear football fans, it is all about fun and excitement. Nothing more. Remember that. Do not engage in violence. Note that the players earn their money weekly, earn yours too wisely. Grab your favourite drink and something to bite as you watch your preferred football club matches with family and friends.
