The year 2016 has so far been eventful
with about 53 days to go. From political scenarios to economic turbulence yet
we are able to overcome and still hopeful for better days ahead.
There are critical questions we need to
answer, on a personal note, to be in proper state of mind for achieving winning
ways in the year 2017.
It’s obviously that in 2016 there was
poor performance in terms of businesses in all sectors. The market women,
traders and artisans complained bitterly likewise the big players in other
business sectors. Our own richest man, Aliko Dangote, also witness decline in
his profits. So basically everyone was affected.
2017 must be positively different!
Apart from the 2016 economic instability

Did you mix business with pleasures?
Business time is crucial. You know naturally,
we all love to party, eat and dine with family and friends. Do you spend all
your income to meet up with social status of friends? Buying expensive clothes,
shoes and jewelries. It is NOT compulsory to attend all social functions.
Patronage without payment?
Never encourage such!
Did you improve yourself academically in line with your
profession?
As the day goes by, everything is
improving by the minute. Now we have electric cup for drinking water. As little
as that is, it is improving. Likewise you need to upgrade yourself. Take a
professional look at your competitors, see what they are doing and look for
ways you can do yours in an extraordinary manner. I mean, that is how telecom
giants spy on each other, so it’s not a crime to spy professionally.

Learn to accommodate your customers’ immoderations.
Like the popular saying that “Customer is King”. Some might be rude with
unpleasant words. Ignore and focus on your motive which is selling.
How clean is your environment?
Keep your surroundings both outside and
indoor clean. Be unique in your personal hygiene. Make yourself presentable.

is very critical to our success in life. And efficiency is doing things right
while effectiveness is doing the right things, therefore, endeavor to do the
right things in 2017.
