Michael’s story will inspire you to keep your passions burning in every situation you find yourself. BackYardstudio, in view of our #GetInspired series met with him and he shared his story with us.

Excerpts:
WHY MUSIC?
O.M: I write and make gospel songs in reference to Philippians 4 verse 8. Music comes to me naturally. I get fulfillment when making music. I have impacted lots of people through music. I am known for my songs. And it obvious that this is what God want me to do because He has always shown His presence with Signs and Wonders. This is my calling. My grandfather plays and sells Drums back then in Ghana and in Oke Imesi in Ekiti State. Also, my dad was a member of the Choir during his early days at Christ Apostolic Church Olorunsogo, Lagos. Music runs in our blood, we all love music. God chose music for me, I didn’t choose it. And I enjoy worship songs.
WHAT INSTRUMENTS DO YOU PLAY?
O.M: The instruments I play includes Drums, Keyboard, Bass Guitar and then I use to play Trumpet but I had stop.

TELL US YOUR STORY
O.M: An unusual thing happened, medically unnamed, it is tissue growth on my left elbow. I had first surgery in 1999. Then a second surgery in 2013 I also had two Biopsies in 2014. Then finally, the surgical operation was on May16th 2015. My left hand was cut off. This is like a calendar of my trying time but to God’s glory I am physically and emotionally fit today more than ever. On the very day that I accept the amputation request, I told my mum and siblings "Go tell the devil when you see him that I’ll be back and better” and I meant it.
It’s only a torn in the flesh. I appreciate my mum and siblings that stood by me through those moments. God’s grace is always sufficient, if you meet me you'll see it. I am an amputee not disable, am willing to tell the world that disability is a state of the mind. A disable person is someone who came into the world and left just like that without any meaningful impact on others. It has nothing to do with physical fitness.
In fact, I still play the drums with one hand and my vocal strength is graced up by God…Halleluyah! To the glory of God, Jehovah is always involve. So, no excuse for failure like my Pastor will always say.

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION:
O.M: For me, the Holy Spirit, Word of God, good music and personally my life are my source of inspiration.
IF NOT MUSIC?
O.M: I love to preach the words of God, so if am not doing music I will be a Preacher, a Teacher, Broadcaster, or a Publisher and also grooming young people on how to discover themselves and their destiny.
