The weekend is here, another opportunity for us to relax and mingle with our family and friends. But you will agree with me that the weekend is not complete without a 'Home-made' dish right? So, this weekend we shall be cooking Ogbono soup.
INGREDIENTS OF OGBONO SOUP.
Ogbono seed (ground with crayfish).
Dry pepper
Palm-oil
Meat
Fish (Stock fish and Fresh fish)
Ponmo (sliced)
Bitter leaf (Chopped)
Ghana pepper (for that unique aroma).
PREPARATION:
Place your pot on the gas, put in your meat and add seasoning with little water to boil for few minutes.
Add the stockfish together with your already parboiled sliced ponmo to boil for five minutes.
While boiling your meat and fish, put your ogbono in a bowl and mix it with palm oil.
When the palm oil blend smoothly with the Ogbono then pour the mixture into the meat and ponmo on the gas. Do not stir. Sprinkle your chopped Bitter leaf on the content in the pot. Then add your parboiled fresh fish with maggi and salt to taste.
Do not cover the pot and let it boil for few minutes, let say 3minutes before you stir to avoid less drawing. Leave for some minute to make a sumptuous mix. Have a taste and its ready to serve.
You can take your ogbono soup with either Amala, Fufu, Semo or Eba. Anyone of your choice. Don't forget to invite your family, friends and that neighbour of yours to have a taste! Have a 'ogbonocious' weekend. Cheers.
